Rob,
Finbar, Wilem and Sam holding Springhill Dads' silverware!

SKFC
continued to show the form that has made them championship contenders
with a very competent display against close rivals S&D A.
S&D A are the only team to take a point from Springhill
this season when they played them in the first game of the season and
drew 3-3. Some of the players were annoyed that S&D 'forgot' to mention
that Springhill only had 10 players when they issued a press release saying
they had done well to draw against Springhill. Some
Springhill players also pointed out that S&D were 3-0 up with only 15
minutes of the game left.
Springhill took an early lead through a great
team move and a wonderful Paul Beattie strike. The team struggled to finish
after that time with S&D nearly getting an equaliser just before half-time.
Gerald Catney pulled off a marvellous save to tip the ball around the
post. The second half was a different affair with Paul netting another
good goal and Wilem showing how dangerous he is up front with another
hat-trick even though he played most of the game at the back.

Another great league performance but we cannot get complacent. The
game against Hythe this Sunday and the remaing league fixtures will
decide if we have won the championship in our first year of playing
football at the right age group.

Springhill
fail to step up to compete
with classy Havant!
Springhill
crashed out of the Hampshire Cup at the end of a 10-1 thrashing
from a classy Havant side. Springhill could not compete with a Havant
side that played the ball around confidently and had a real desire
to win. It is true that Springhill were missing a few players and
almost all of the Havant attacks resulted in goals but Springhill
did not offer any real competition until the second half.
Players will need to improve their fitness,
tackling and marking if we are to compete with these good sides.
We have the players with good performances from Chris Manning, Lewis
Swift, Dominic Keougn, Finbar Lynch and Wilem Frisby, but we must
compete with more heart than we did today said disappointed Manager
Rob Frisby.
"I do not expect to win every game but
we must all work hard as a team if we are going to give teams a
good game."
Rob went on to say that the team will now
concentrate on their league form and something about lots and lots
of shuttle runs?
